We are beginning our last phase of flex learning on Monday. This is a district wide initiative and involves using SeeSaw as our learning platform. I am glad that SeeSaw is familiar to all of the students in our class, and hopefully becoming more familiar to you as well. If you need help with SeeSaw, please let me know. I am happy to send you the code and instructions you will need to get started. The biggest change this last month of learning is that there will be scheduled lessons sent out. You can expect lessons to be posted every Monday and Wednesday morning. You can of course complete them any time, but you will know when they will posted each week. Please click HERE for detailed information about this last phase and a fun activity for students to complete. I hope this post finds all of you well. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
Hello,
I hope you are doing well. The purpose of this blog post is to get information about your technology at home, but first, I want to let you know how heavy my heart is after hearing the news that our school year is finished in the classroom. I truly miss each student, our class community, and all of the end of the year fun we should have had together. Please reach out to me if you need anything at all. Please take a moment to fill out the survey below. Every family in the Willard School District will be asked to take this survey. I will call families that do not respond to get the information needed. I appreciate you taking the time to get me the information needed by the district. Thank you! Please click HERE to take the Willard Student Technology Survey. Hello!
I hope you all are doing well. Mrs. Childers, Mrs. Dickinson and I have compiled a list of resources that you can utilize while at home with your child. Please click HERE for the list and links. I know that many of you may still be working and may not be at home, so please don’t feel like this is something you have to do. We just wanted to provide these resources for you in case you are needing some things to do in order to pass the time. In addition to these resources, I will be sending you Home Learning Codes for Seesaw. Click HERE for instructions on how to set this up. Currently, you have the Seesaw Family app downloaded. In order to use Seesaw at home the same way we use Seesaw at school, you will have to download the Seesaw for Schools app. 😊 I thought it would be fun to use Seesaw for the kids to still be able to share with me the things they would typically share on a normal school day. For example, they can share pictures of a Lego creation, a picture they have drawn/colored/painted, a Play-Doh creation, a story they write, them reading a book, reading one of our sight word lists, or if they just have something that they want to tell me. It can be anything they want to share! I will be sure to reply to each of their “shares” with either a video comment or a voice comment. I’m hoping by doing this, we can still feel like we are a part of our school family, even if we can’t be with each other in person. I will also be posting some fun activities from Seesaw that will be review of things we have learned. Again, this will all be completely optional. Please do not feel like your child has to complete any of these. I am doing this to stay in touch and for those families who are needing things to do at home. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through Seesaw or through email. I can’t wait to see some of those sweet faces soon! I miss each and every one of them. Love, Mrs. Woods Helpers Next Week

Monday-Isaac Tuesday-Carson Wednesday-Zoey Thursday-leftover snacks Friday-Valentine Day Party Valentine Day Party Our Valentine’s Day party is on Friday, February 14, 8:45-9:30. Please help your child make a Valentine’s Day box for his or her cards. This can be as simple as a shoebox, or more elaborate if you would like. Please DO NOT label cards with names. It is much easier and quicker at this age if they can pass out a card to each student without finding that child’s box/name, etc… They can simply write who it is from and pass one out to each friend. The kids will exchange Valentines after the party so they have more time for games and snacks. Feel free to send the boxes and cards in anytime next week. You may want to put the cards in a Ziplock bag to send to school. Please click HERE if you would like to donate an item to help with our party. Please send items in no later than Wednesday. Thank you!!!! Snack Helpers

We will celebrate on this day regardless of any snow days that may happen. The school does a school-wide dress up day to celebrate... you can dress up as a 100 year old person, or wear a t-shirt with 100 things on it. This is completely optional. We will be doing fun activities to celebrate in our classroom. One of the things we will be doing involves making a snack with 100 things. If you are interested in donating for the 100th day, please click HERE. Thank you! Ask your child about....
Reading Groups
We will begin guided reading groups next week! Each group will meet twice a week for reading instruction. Some students will go to Mrs. Dickinson and Mrs. Childers for reading groups. I am very excited to begin groups. It is fun to see their growth in reading. Working on sight word lists at home will help your child in their guided reading group. The goal for the end of the year is for students to master all 5 lists. Math You may have noticed, students have not been completing all of the pages only their math papers. We are working on addition and learning in ways other than paper and pencil. We are acting problems out, using manipulatives, and telling addition stories. You are welcome to do the problems at home, but no need to send papers back to school. RAZ KIDS I sent a reading note home earlier this week. One resource that is helpful to beginning reader is RAZ Kids. I sent the login information home. I forgot to mention that the password to get to your student's library of books is the apple icon.
