Last week I attended the METC (Midwest Education Technology Community) on Monday and Tuesday. This is a technology conference in St. Louis. Mrs. Kramer and I spent Monday with a certified LEGO trainer. We used the LEGO WeDo Science Curriculum to build a robot named Milo and then we were able to program him to complete different tasks. You can read more about the curriculum HERE. On Tuesday, I went to a workshop session teaching us all about GoogleMaps and Google Cardboard (check it out here- it was really cool!).

This week we are busy learning about number bonds in math. Students are working to find different combinations to make a number (addition). The goal for the end of kindergarten is to add and subtract within 10.
We will continue writing non-fiction books this week. We are writing a book about Polar Bears together using facts from non-fiction books and a site that Willard East has a subscription to called PebbleGo. It is an outstanding website to learn about so many things! The username is: willardeast and the password is: school
We are learning the words "he, had, and his" this week as well as the digraphs: ch, and wh
We are reading books about going to the dentist (Dr. De Soto and Little Critter Goes to the Dentist). The class is making personal connections to these books about a time they visited the dentist, and discussing problem/solution.
