What We Are Learning….
Spelling Words next week: the, to
Math: Comparing numbers, adding one more to a number, counting strategies
Reading: We read Creepy Carrots this week and made connections to the story, practiced retelling the story and discussed the role of the author and illustrator. We read nonfiction books about spiders and wrote about spider facts.
Writing: We are continuing to write personal narratives, reread our writing to make sure it is readable. We are working on stretching words with beginning, middle and ending sounds.
I have added several items to Mastery Connect, so please log in and take a look! Please keep in mind with writing that this is a YEAR long progression so it is totally normal to see some standards at nearing mastery (yellow) and remediation (red) at this point in the year. I added a math checklist with counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s, recognizing numbers 1-20 and writing numbers 1-20. There will most likely be red and yellow in this area on the progress report. These are goals for the END of the year, and will be rechecked each quarter.
