Hello!
I am looking forward to sharing this year with you and your child! I want to be as much help to you as possible. I posted some information below that will help prepare your student for the beginning of kindergarten.
Important Dates
Kindergarten School Supply List
(this is a little different than the list you will find at the store. I have a lot of pencils and markers, so I took those off and added a couple of items that will be beneficial to our classroom)
1 pair of blunt tip scissors*
1 small school box*
1-inch 3 ring binder*
1 pair of headphones (earbuds are hard for kids to keep in their ears)*
1 rest mat OR towel (please be conscious of size)*
-no sleeping bags, stuffed animals, or pillows please
Spiral notebook*
Composition notebook*
2 bottles white glue & 2 glue sticks
4 boxes of crayons (24 count)
I package of Expo brand Dry Erase Markers (Expo brand works best on dry erase boards)
3 pocket folders (solid colors)
2 boxes of Tissues
1 container of Lysol wipes --girls only
Hand sanitizer (to share with class) --boys only
*please label these supplies only
REMIND
Remind is an additional way for me to communicate with you. Remind is a free texting service that I use throughout the school year to send out quick reminders to parents in our classroom. When using Remind, I cannot see your phone number and you cannot see mine. If you do not like Remind after you sign up, you can always unsubscribe. I highly recommend signing up, because it will help keep you up to date with activities going on in our classroom. This is how you sign up for reminders for our classroom:
text @b9hk2c to the number 81010
MEET THE TEACHER
This night is for incoming kindergarten students only. Grades 1-4 have a different date for Meet the Teacher.
Monday, August 13th 6:30-7:30
Come see our classroom, and drop off school supplies! Dropping off school supplies early will make the first day much easier for everyone. There will be a few forms to fill out and a quick meeting for all kindergarten parents to help ease the transition and answer questions about your child's first year of elementary school.
I am SO excited to meet you!!
