Winter Party
Our winter party is December 21st, 8:45-9:30. Please send in $2 to help cover the cost of the party. Students will eat breakfast at the party. There are a few items still needed. If you would like to help, this is what we need:
Ornament fillers: red, white, green tissue paper cut into pieces no larger than your palm (shape doesn’t matter)
fuzz balls
beads
large sequins
(basically anything that can be squished through a hole the size of your thumb (red, green, white, silver, etc …)
Each child will be filling two large ornaments so we will need quite a bit of filler. Thank you for all of your help!!
Tomorrow is Grinch Day!
Students can wear green, wear a Who-inspired hairdo, wear antlers like the Grinch's dog, etc...! It will be a fun day full of Grinch themed literacy and math activities. We will also do a STEM activity based around the Grinch! I can't wait!
Winter Celebration Week is the week of December 18th. These are what each day's celebration attire will be:
Mon. 18th- Pajamas Day
Tues. 19th-Tiger Wear
Wed. 20th-Sweats
Thurs. 21st- Ugly Sweater
*I will not introduce new sight words next week or the couple of days we come back from break. We will begin new words the week of January 8th. Thank you for working on sight word lists at home to support what we are learning at school! The goal for December is for students to be on list 5 and at the end of the year to finish all 10 lists. This is a big goal, but I know they can do it! I am almost finished assessing students to determine independent reading levels for each student. This information will be in the comments of the report card that will be sent to you through email next week. Students will be placed in reading groups based on this information after break.
Upcoming Dates:
December 21- ½ Day/Christmas Party
December 22-January 3- Christmas Break
