If you are coming to the assembly tomorrow, let me know and I will have your child take their backpack to music. You can swing by the music room and get their backpack on your way out after the assembly. This is not counted against their attendance.
Summer Birthdays
Several of our students have summer birthdays. When the snack calendar comes home today, the summer birthdays will have an opportunity to bring birthday treats like student's who celebrate their birthday during the year. Treats can be a regular snack, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream treats, popcicles etc.
Art Boxes
In art, the class made a clay dog or cat. They will be able to bring them home on Monday. Please send in a shoe box or a smaller container so their clay project will make it home safely. Please bring them by next Thursday! If you have an extra for someone that does not bring one in, that would be great!
Field Day
Kindergarten and 1st Grade activities are in the morning from 9-11. Be prepared to get wet! I would suggest a change of clothes just in case they get really wet! You may want to put some sunscreen on your child before they come to school and feel free to send a water bottle with them. Parents are welcome to attend!
End of the Year Assessments
We are starting to give our end of the year assessments. I know the report card is confusing so I will be sending home some of the results from the assessments with standards highlighted so you can see specifically what standard they need help with. I also will include "I Can" statements so you can see what each standard means (not in educational jargon). In the next week or two, I will be sending home the results from the end of the year math assessment we give and sight words that are not mastered yet. Hopefully this will give you an idea of some things that you could work on at home over the summer.
